LIGHTS FC’S 2022 PRE-SEASON KICKS-OFF WITH MULTIPLE ANNOUNCEMENTS
February 4, 2022 (Las Vegas, NV) — With the start of the regular season just 6 weeks away, the Las Vegas Lights FC has commenced pre-season camp for the upcoming 2022 season. Today the Club is announcing the following…:
Major League Soccer Club Affiliation:
Los Angeles FC & Lights FC have agreed to a one-year extension of its affiliation agreement from last season. This relationship will continue to provide Lights FC with access to Major League Soccer players throughout the season to amplify the current roster.
Coaching Staff:
Lights FC has appointed Enrique Duran as its new head coach. Duran most recently served as Assistant Coach for Lights FC last season where he worked under U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Steve Cherundolo who recently became head coach at LAFC. Raised in Madrid, Duran worked several years for the world famous FC Barcelona soccer club where he led the organization’s initiatives related to international development of coaching methodology to ensure that their style of play was correctly incorporated by their international Club partners. He also has worked with the Johan Cruyff Football organization on coaching related projects. To date, Duran’s career has taken him around the world in a variety of coaching positions, including roles in Spain, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and most recently the United States. Prior to joining Lights FC, he became the first head coach to lead a youth academy team based in the United States to win the CONCACAF Champions League title which he did with LAFC’s Academy program.
The coaching staff will also include Stephen Campos who returns to the Lights coaching staff where he has served in different capacities since 2020 (as well as the 2018 inaugural season) and Omar Zeenni returning as Goalkeeper Coach.
Player Roster:
Lights FC currently has the following players currently under contract for this season. The list below includes (i) six returning players, (ii) two players that played in MLS last season, (iii) multiple players that have played for their National Team & Youth National Teams and (iv) a range of players that played last season in Major League Soccer, USL Championship, USL League One and NCAA college soccer.

Jorge Almaguer: Played in USL League One last season as part of MLS’ FC Dallas academy system.

Chase Bromstedt: Developed within MLS’ Sporting Kansas City academy, he recently completed a four-year career at the University of Tulsa.

Daniel Crisostomo: USL veteran returning to Lights FC after signing a MLS contract last season with LAFC.

Frank Daroma: Returning for his second season with Lights FC after being one of the team leaders in minutes played in 2021.

Bruce El-Mesmari: Represented Mexico Youth National Team at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup after developing within Liga MX club Puebla FC’s academy. Returns to Lights FC for a second season.

Dekel Keinan: A veteran of international soccer, this former Israeli National Team member returns to Lights FC for another season with a career that has spanned multiple countries, including a previous stint playing in the English Premier League.

Roberto Molina: Last year he represented the El Salvador National Team and played a full season with Lights FC. He was also drafted by MLS’ Colorado Rapids last month in the MLS SuperDraft.

Alvaro Quezada: 2021 MLS SuperDraft selection who played for both LAFC & Lights FC last season.

Abraham Romero: Previously played for USL’s Los Angeles Galaxy II and Orange County SC where he won USL Cup last season.

Nathan Sepulveda: Returns for his second season with Lights FC.

Daniel Trejo: A first-round selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, he returns to Lights FC for a second season.
All players listed above are pending league and federation approval. Additional players to be named to the roster in the coming weeks.

2022 Home Opener:
Scheduled for Saturday, March 19th, Lights FC will host reigning Western Conference regular season champions Phoenix Rising at Cashman Field (kick-off at 7pm). Individual match tickets to go on sale in the coming weeks.
